The term XI Workforce is introduced by me in 2022 as a key concept in a Mitacs project proposal, where the term is defined as following:
XI is the English abbreviation of Extended Intelligence, it refers to the synergetic fusion of behavers of Artificial Intelligence entities (Machine and Software), Authentic Intelligence entities (Real Person) and Data Intelligence entities (Big Data Platform and Application), With a set of advanced intelligent technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI1), Authentic Intelligence (AI2) and Augmented Intelligence (AI3), as well as Data Intelligence (DI). More pioneering studies on the synergy fusion of ABM and autonomous decision-making XI agents are planned to produce a new XI Workforce to replace intensive labour work.an Agent-Based Modeling (ABM) mechanism is also critical to shape an adaptive complex ecosystem to host these entities and provide opportunities to unleash the power of each entity in a competitive environment.
Artificial intelligence (AI1)
Artificial intelligence is intelligence—perceiving, synthesizing, and inferring information—demonstrated by machines, as opposed to intelligence displayed by non-human animals and humans. Example tasks in which this is done include speech recognition, computer vision, translation between (natural) languages, as well as other mappings of inputs.
Authentic intelligence (AI2).
In 1994 the Wall Street Journal published a definition of intelligence which reflected the consensus of 52 leading academic researchers in fields associated with human intelligence: “Intelligence is a very general mental capability that, among other things, involves the ability to reason, plan, solve problems, think abstractly, comprehend complex ideas, learn quickly and learn from experience.
Augmented Intelligence (AI3)
Augmented intelligence is a design pattern for a human-centered partnership model of people and artificial intelligence (AI) working together to enhance cognitive performance, including learning, decision making and new experiences (Gartner).
Data Intelligence (DI)
Data intelligence is the analysis of various forms of data in such a way that it can be used by companies to expand their services or investments. Data intelligence can also refer to companies' use of internal data to analyze their own operations or workforce to make better decisions in the future. Business performance, data mining, online analytics, and event processing are all types of data that companies gather and use for data intelligence purposes.
XI Workforce, as the name implied, is then defined as a collective name referring to a new type of team consists of the agents empowered by XI in ABM ecosystem. An XI Agent could be an AI entity, DI entity or a real person.
